Rachel joined the Dot Com team in January 2013 on a two-day secondment from St Clement’s Academy School in Birmingham. Rachel’s role was originally to support the West Midlands Police with the engagement of schools within the Birmingham and West Midlands Area. Prior to this, Rachel had delivered the programme at her school in her role as Pastoral Care Manger and Safeguarding Lead.
Rachel became Dot Com’s National Co-ordinator in September 2015 and is continuing to grow the number of schools using the programme within the West Midlands and across the UK. Rachel is also responsible for training other co-ordinators and creating corporate training packages that can be used across the country.
Rachel assists new and existing schools across the country with embedding and enhancing the resource within all cohorts of the key stages: including class-based lessons and parent and vulnerable children sessions. Rachel works closely with the police, building positive relationships and engaging their support for use of the resource within schools.
Rachel is very passionate about the importance of safeguarding children and empowering them to make safer choices, enabling them to fulfil their potential. Rachel enjoys the diversity of her role and the opportunity it gives her to meet many new inspiring children and professionals.
Outside of work Rachel is a mother to 4-year-old Ava and 17-month-old Joseph – who keep Rachel on “her toes”, learning new and exciting things each day.
